On May 19, 2025, the Milton City Council voted unanimously to remove the 39-acre Hopewell Road property from the sealed bid process. (Earlier, it had been put up for sale for qualified bidders for a limited time.) The Council also authorized staff to initiate its permanent protection through the City’s voter-approved Greenspace Bond program.

This expansive property along Hopewell sits south of Bethany Bend, with one side bordering Providence Park.

By securing the site as protected greenspace, the City would not only prevent overdevelopment but also creates a critical link to Providence Park—doubling its size and expanding access to a natural amenity in the heart of Milton.

Below you’ll find several pictures from this property, which includes cleared land, trees, and multiple structures.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

NOTE: The answers below apply to when sealed bids were being accepted for this property. As of May 19, 2025, that was no longer the case.

Was there a minimum bid price? Yes. The reserve bid price was $5.159 million. (No bids lower than this will be considered.)

When did the bidding window open? March 13.

How long could the bidding period be open? 90 days (which works out to June 11)

If I have a question, can I send it and get a response? Yes – but only if it were submitted by May 16. (Answers would be provided no later than May 23.)

Do bidders have to tender escrow? $50,000 in escrow was to be required (without financing) only from the highest bidder. This bidder would have had 5 business days upon receipt of the award to tender this amount.

Could potential bidders tour the property? Yes. Walk-throughs took place on Wednesday, April 30, and Wednesday, May 7. No advanced registration was required to attend.

If I had a question or wanted to make a bid, who would I have contacted? Reach out to Jarrard & Davis by phone at 678-455-7150 or send a message via this webpage.

Among other things, those folders contain:
